WELCOME TO SUNNY SOUTH AFRICA
May is the official start of winter in South Africa and in the high
mountains of Lesotho and the Drakensberg our country tends to get
its first snowfalls, which brings a cold chill to the early morning
air and pink noises as we embrace the winter chill.
Despite the cold, May heralds the start of the safari season in
the Johannesburg
region of South Africa as animal viewing opportunities multiple.
This month we recommend that you head to the
Kruger National Park area. The Kruger provides everyone with an
opportunity to interact with South Africa's beautiful people,
animals and environment.
The cold can't stop the party feeling on the
Garden Route, as
Knysna welcomes the
Pink Loerie festival. In
Cape Town those in
the know are heading out of the city to visit the Cape's beautiful
winelands and taste a few glasses of wine and sample a handful of
olives at the
Riebeek Kasteel Olive Festival.
While Durban opens
its arms to welcome anything and anybody to do with the Tourism
industry at
Indaba 2008; and Pietermaritzburg welcomes all to the
2008 Royal Show. Although the temptation is to snuggle up at
home, get out your winter kit and see what this beautiful country
has to offer.
